Here are some tips to keep pets as well as stray dogs safe during Diwali:
FOR PETS
1. Take your dog for a walk during the day before the fireworks begin.
2. Lamps and candles should be kept out of your pet's reach to avoid accidental fire or burns.
3. Keep your dog in a closed room and create a safe corner for it.
4. Put on the TV, fans and shut the windows, as the dogs tend to connect sight with sound too.
5. First aid box: It should be ready because accidents can happen anytime. Do not forget to keep anxiety medicines for dogs in it.
FOR STRAY DOGS
1. Don't scare them with lit crackers: Do not let anyone in your locality throw lit crackers at or towards them.
2. Provide them food: Keep a bowl of water and food ready for them outside your house.
3. Provide them shelter: Open your basement or parking area for them for at least one night.
